Cathy Vlahogiannis has been a part of Chicago’s television and scene for 16 years. She has been recognized by the National Academy of Arts and Sciences with three Emmy® Awards and 17 nominations. Her 10 years at Chicago’s top television station, ABC 7, saw her produce and edit 190 North, the longest running weekly entertainment/lifestyle program in Chicago broadcast history; she created, produced and edited two programs for ABC’s national Live Well television network, the cooking show, Let’s Dish, and the home improvement show, Here’s How Right Now. Cathy also produced live TV specials, like ABC 7’s highest rated annual live broadcast, Countdown Chicago.
It all started for Cathy in 1998 in radio promotions at WKIE (KissFM), then at WKQX (Q101) when Cathy joined, co-hosted and produced Mancow’s Morning Madhouse. Now, Cathy is reunited with Mancow as “Cathy the Greek” weekday mornings on 97.9 WLUP, The Loop.
“Mancow, Roker, Abe and Cheez – I love them all; they’re like brothers to me! It’s so great to be reunited with these guys! And, to be working at the best classic rock station in the country is a dream come true!”
